A Washtenaw County judge is currently reviewing our Recall petitions after an appeal by the sitting Augusta Township Board. The next hearing is set for May 13, 2026. Following the verdict in that hearing, we plan to begin collecting signatures. Stay tuned for the announcement of our official canvassing start date!
Sitting Board voted to rezone 522 acres for industrial-scale data center developments. Residents strongly believe this decision was made without adequate public input or long-term community-aligned planning.
A cell tower was advanced in a residential area. Neighbors and adjacent property owners feel their concerns about placement and impact were not fully considered or respected.
Large-scale solar projects continue to replace farmland. Residents are asking for balanced planning that protects agricultural land and historic rural community character.
The Township continues to rely on multiple paid consultants, including planning and water consultants. Residents are concerned about rising costs and long-term financial impact.
The Board approved pay increases, including additional compensation adjustments. Many residents question the timing and transparency of these decisions.
Township-owned properties were sold without what some residents felt was sufficient public notice or community discussion.
A proposed millage increase has raised concerns about affordability and responsible budgeting, increasing the anxieties of fixed-income and senior residents.
The Master Plan update will shape Augusta’s future for generations. Many believe new leadership is needed to ensure the community’s voice guides that process.
